RoadMate is in a pre-launch demonstration stage. This document describes how the service is intended to work and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.
What RoadMate is
RoadMate is a marketplace. It connects customers with independent mechanics, tow operators and workshops ("partners"). RoadMate does not own tow vehicles or workshops and does not itself carry out repairs. Each service is provided by the partner who accepts the booking.
Demonstration status
The website is currently a demonstration. Bookings, partner assignments and status updates are simulated, no partner is dispatched and no payment is taken. Do not rely on this website in an emergency. Call 112 if you or anyone else is in danger.
Who can use RoadMate
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You must give accurate details and be authorised to arrange work on the vehicle.
Bookings and estimates
- Before you confirm, you see an itemised estimate based on configured prices.
- Estimates may change with location, distance, time and what the partner finds. Any change, and any parts, fuel or tolls, will be shown to you for approval before the work goes ahead.
- A booking is confirmed when you submit the request. Assignment depends on partner availability and is not guaranteed.
- An arrival time is shown only when a real estimate is available. We do not promise a response time.
Payments
In the planned service, you pay after the job is complete through a supported payment method. The dispatch fee of ₹30 to ₹50 applies to roadside bookings and is shown in your estimate. No other fee is charged unless it was shown to you first.
Your responsibilities
- Stay safe and follow road safety guidance while you wait.
- Describe the problem honestly and be reachable on the phone number given.
- Do not request services for a vehicle you are not entitled to use.
- Treat partners with respect. Abuse or threats can lead to account suspension.
Partner terms
- Partners are independent businesses, not employees or agents of RoadMate.
- Every application stays under review until an authorised administrator approves it. Only approved partners are shown as verified and can be assigned bookings.
- Partners must hold the licences, permits, insurance and vehicle documents required for their services, and keep them current.
- RoadMate charges a commission on the completed service value, proposed at 15% to 20%. The exact rate is set out in the partner agreement.
- Partners must quote fairly, get the customer's approval before extra work or parts, and update the booking status honestly.
- RoadMate may suspend a partner after serious complaints, safety concerns, false documents or repeated no-shows.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations and refunds follow the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
Reviews
Only customers with a completed booking can review it. Reviews must be honest and must not contain abuse or personal data. RoadMate does not publish invented or paid reviews.
Liability
Partners are responsible for the work they carry out. RoadMate is responsible for running the platform with reasonable care, verifying partners as described here and handling complaints fairly. To the extent the law allows, RoadMate is not liable for indirect losses, such as lost income, arising from a breakdown or a delay in assistance. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer protection law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please raise any complaint with support first so we can try to resolve it. Disputes that cannot be resolved will be handled by courts of competent jurisdiction in India.
