RoadMate is in a pre-launch demonstration stage. This document describes how the service is intended to work and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.
Who we are
RoadMate ("we", "us") runs an online marketplace that connects vehicle owners with independent roadside service partners in India. For questions about this policy, write to support@roadmate.example.
Information we collect
When you request assistance
- Your name and phone number, and your email if you choose to give it.
- Vehicle type, and optionally its model, registration number and notes.
- The service you need, your description of the problem and an optional photo.
- Your location: either GPS coordinates you choose to share, or an address and landmark you type.
When you apply as a partner
- Name, business name, phone, email, services, vehicles, operating areas, working hours and experience.
- Verification documents such as identity proof, business proof and vehicle papers.
When you contact support
- Your message, the booking reference if given, and your preferred contact method.
Automatically
- Essential browser storage needed to run forms, bookings, your theme choice and sign-in.
- Campaign details (UTM tags) from the link you arrived on, kept beyond your visit only if you allow analytics.
How we use it
- To find and assign a partner, and to let them reach you and your vehicle.
- To show your estimate, booking status and history.
- To verify partners before they receive requests.
- To handle complaints, disputes, refunds and safety concerns.
- To understand which campaigns bring visitors, where you have allowed it.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We collect only what is needed for these purposes. We do not sell personal data.
Location
We ask for your device location only when you press Share location during a request. We do not track your location in the background. You can always type an address instead.
Who we share it with
- The assigned partner receives your name, phone number, vehicle details, problem description and location for that booking only.
- Service providers that help us run RoadMate, such as hosting, payments, maps and messaging, once they are connected. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
In this demonstration, everything you enter is stored only in your own browser. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
When the service launches, we plan to keep:
- Booking records for up to 3 years, for disputes, accounting and tax.
- Support tickets for up to 2 years after they close.
- Documents from rejected partner applications for no more than 90 days.
- Shared GPS coordinates only as part of the booking they belong to.
